Student Affairs DEI - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26005929)
Develops and implements initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace, and build community across the Division of Student Affairs. Coordinates divisional community-building activities and celebrations, supports employee engagement initiatives, and collaborates with departments to promote a positive organizational culture in which all employees feel connected, supported, and valued. Serves as a resource to divisional leadership on workplace climate, staff engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Required Skill Sets
Employee Engagement & Culture Building — Demonstrated ability to design and implement programs that increase staff engagement, morale, and sense of belonging within a large, multi-department organization.
Inclusion & Belonging — Working knowledge of inclusive workplace practices and the ability to foster a welcoming environment for staff from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Event & Program Planning — Skill in planning, coordinating, and executing community-building activities, celebrations, and recognition events for a large staff population.
Relationship Building & Collaboration — Ability to build trust and partner effectively with directors, senior leaders, and staff across departments to advance shared culture and engagement goals.
Organizational Climate Assessment — Ability to gather input (e.g., surveys, listening sessions) and translate findings into actionable recommendations for divisional leadership.
Master's Degree preferred
Executes strategic alignment, long-term planning, operational planning, and management oversight of major college, campus, or University-wide student affairs functions. Establishes the direction, goals, implementation strategy, evaluation means, student initiatives, and policies of the department. Maintains responsibility for budgetary matters. Directs effective communications, promotions, and public relations for the department.
Essential Functions
Develop and implement staff engagement and inclusion initiatives.
Plan and coordinate community-building activities and celebrations for staff.
Collaborate with departments to strengthen workplace culture.
Assess workplace climate and advise leadership on engagement.
Support staff recruitment, retention, and collaboration efforts.
Coordinate communications and resources for engagement initiatives.
Serve on divisional committees supporting culture and staff success.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
