Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting the efficient flow of products and materials. This role coordinates inbound and outbound logistics activities, manages shipping and receiving documentation, supports customer order fulfillment, and serves as a key point of contact for transportation, delivery scheduling, and inventory-related processes. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with Operations teams (Processing, Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse) and Supply Planning to ensure timely and accurate product flow.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and tactical work for which this position is accountable:

It is the responsibility of the Logistics Coordinator to work in a supervised manner, to:

Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including delivery scheduling, shipment tracking, discrepancy resolution, and transportation-related inquiries.Support load preparation and customer deliveries by verifying shipments, reviewing documentation, and communicating load information to internal teams and carriers.Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), labels, load verification records, and shipment tracking information.Manage customer orders by verifying order accuracy, processing corrections, monitoring status, and communicating exceptions to relevant stakeholders.Support production planning and regulatory compliance by maintaining run sheets, preparing operational reports, and ensuring documentation meets QA, USDA, audit, and business requirements.Coordinate packaging material movement and support inventory management through tracking, verification, documentation, and collaboration with Packaging and Operations teams.Maintain accurate shipment, inventory, and customer data in logistics and operational systems, including Ovotrack.Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Packaging, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and external carriers to resolve issues and ensure efficient operations.Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide backup coverage for the Operations Coordinator and other critical logistics functions as needed.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong computer aptitude and data entry skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Proficient in Peeps, Areos, and Ovotrack. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-through. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s or Associates's degree in a related field is preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination, preferred. Experience with ERP, inventory, or transportation management systems preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily works in an office environment but may regularly visit other farm areas, including animal facilities, processing areas, crop fields, warehouses, shops, and other operational areas.


While performing the duties of this position, the employee will:

Sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.Perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with typing, data entry, writing and document handling.Move throughout the workplace and farm property as needed.See, talk, and hear.May occasionally walk on uneven, wet, muddy, or outdoor terrain; climb stairs; and navigate around agricultural equipment, vehicles, animals, and other operational equipment.May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.May drive or ride in a vehicle for multiple hours at a time.


Work is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional work in farm or operational settings. In those settings, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, manure, noise, odors, agricultural chemicals, machinery, animals, and other typical farm conditions. Biosecurity measures must be followed, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.


The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
