Associate Director, Public Relations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Associate Director, Public Relations based in United States.

This is a high-impact brand leadership role focused on shaping and amplifying a premium consumer brand through strategic public relations, integrated marketing, and retail storytelling. You will be responsible for building meaningful media relationships, driving earned visibility, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all consumer touchpoints. The role sits at the intersection of PR, brand marketing, and experiential retail, combining storytelling with execution across campaigns, events, and showroom activations. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to define how the brand shows up in the market and in physical retail spaces. This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, design-driven environment. It is ideal for a leader who thrives in premium consumer brands and is passionate about building brand affinity through culture, media, and experience

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies to increase brand awareness and strengthen positioning in the market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, editors, influencers, and industry stakeholders to secure high-impact coverage.
  • Oversee PR agency relationships, including campaign coordination, reporting, product seeding, and influencer or celebrity partnerships.
  • Lead the creation of compelling brand narratives, press materials, and communications that support both retail and digital channels.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define brand messaging and ensure consistency across all consumer-facing touchpoints.
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns that drive traffic, engagement, and brand affinity across retail and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate on experiential marketing initiatives, including product launches, showroom openings, and brand events.
  • Manage budgets, performance tracking, and reporting to optimize marketing and PR effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
Requirements
  • 7–10+ years of experience in public relations, brand marketing, or integrated communications within premium or luxury consumer brands.
  • Proven experience leading PR strategy and executing high-impact campaigns in a retail or omnichannel environment.
  • Strong network of media contacts and demonstrated success in securing earned media coverage.
  • Experience managing PR agencies, influencer programs, and brand partnerships, including celebrity collaborations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and storytelling abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting retail brand strategy, showroom activations, or experiential marketing initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
