Located inside the Canopy DC Embassy Row by Hilton Hotel, we are currently seeking a server that can do it all! From being responsible for engaging and serving our guests and ensuring everyone is enjoying themselves and the atmosphere, they will be an integral part of the Canopy experience and help shape the dining experience for all guests, both in-house and local diners. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the space and its offerings, uphold all safety and cleanliness expectations with consistency, and bring a friendly, welcoming presence to every interaction, someone who makes guests feel genuinely cared for the moment they walk in.

Requirements:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

· Show enthusiasm and passion for the concept and menu

· Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner

· Be a positive team member

· Welcome each guest with a smile and help shape a positive dining experience

· Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures

· Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all restaurant space

· Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols

· Ability to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food & beverages

· Ability to multi-tasks and problem solve guest concerns, informing the supervisor or MOD, if needed

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag

· Attend all mandatory hotel meetings and trainings

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to stand during entire shift

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Completes open checklist, stocks bar and supplies for the night, and reviews any outstanding issues with the supervisor or manager

· Follow up with other departments as necessary

· Attend all shift and department meetings

· Resolve all issues or problems with guests in a friendly, timely, and courteous manner

· Operate and maneuver O.S. system with minimal errors to include but not limited to placing orders, take various forms of payment and close checks

· Complete all other tasks requested by Manager

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

· Must ensure all safety practices are utilized while performing tasks

· Maintain cleanliness of work area

· Take drink orders from each customer, explain any specials, handle payments, take food orders, and answer any questions regarding the menu

· Knowledgeable of all liquors, wines, beers currently being served

· Clearly communicate last call at designated time

· Ask each customer for ID and ensure they are over 21

· Complete all closing duties and follow closing checklist

· Collect and report tips at end of shift
