Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) Instructor in Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey at Valbin XCTC

Position Summary
Valbin Corporation is seeking an experienced Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) Instructors to support a potential contract at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.
The C-IED Instructor provides classroom and field instruction in support of the USAF Expeditionary Operations School (EOS) Fieldcraft Program, specializing in Counter-IED and IED Defeat operations. The instructor delivers training on current IED threats, tactics, techniques, and procedures while preparing students to identify, mitigate, and respond to explosive hazards encountered during deployed operations. In addition to instructional duties, the C-IED Instructor is responsible for the safe setup, operation, accountability, and reconstitution of training devices, pyrotechnics, and instructional equipment in accordance with USAF EOS policies and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, field, and practical instruction on Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) and IED Defeat principles, concepts, tactics, techniques, and procedures in accordance with approved Plans of Instruction (POIs).
• Instruct students on current and emerging IED and landmine threats encountered during mounted and dismounted operations.
• Demonstrate threat recognition, route assessment, tactical decision-making, and appropriate responses to explosive hazards in realistic training environments.
• Prepare, set up, operate, maintain, inventory, and reconstitute C-IED training devices, inert training aids, pyrotechnics, and associated instructional equipment.
• Ensure all training aids, explosive training devices, and pyrotechnics are safely handled and accounted for in accordance with USAF EOS safety procedures and applicable regulations.
• Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and document training completion in accordance with USAF EOS and Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) standards.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of C-IED training programs and instructional materials.
• Support field exercises, range operations, logistics, and other training support activities required to successfully execute Fieldcraft courses.
• Maintain required instructor certifications, weapons qualifications, and professional development requirements while ensuring compliance with all USAF EOS policies and contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of the Navy School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCHOLEOD).
• Minimum of four (4) years of military or civilian experience as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician **or** a minimum of three (3) years of experience instructing C-IED-specific curriculum in a formal military training course or comparable training environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current IED, mine, and explosive threats affecting deployed military personnel.
• Demonstrated experience instructing C-IED operations in both classroom and field environments.
• Ability to safely handle, employ, and account for explosive training devices and pyrotechnics used during training exercises.
• Must meet all General Instructor qualifications identified in Section 2.6 of the PWS, including instructor certification, weapons qualification, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Range Safety Officer qualification, and physical fitness requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in austere environments under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate in live-fire ranges and tactical training environments involving smoke, pyrotechnics, explosive training devices, and uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform physically demanding instructional activities while wearing required protective equipment.
• Ability to travel throughout the installation and associated training areas to support classroom, field, and range instruction.
