Construction Project Manager in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Florida at Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc

Manage sheet metal decking projects safely and on schedule, from turnover through closeout. Coordinate estimates, field plans, labor, equipment, budgets, documentation, and customer expectations across projects and states.
Bring steel erection subcontracting experience and catch issues before they cause delays. Support bidding, estimating, customer accounts, and compliance with company safety standards.

• Lead projects with safety-first expectations for quality, productivity, and schedule.
• Review estimates, contracts, drawings, scope, exclusions, and handoffs; resolve gaps and align field plans with commitments.
• Schedule labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, mobilization, and site access.
• Track budgets, production, labor hours, changes, and required reports; keep records current.
• Visit sites regularly to verify conditions, review progress, resolve constraints, and coordinate customer teams, superintendents, foremen, crews, and safety staff. See requirements.
• Attend preconstruction, coordination, progress, and closeout meetings with accurate updates and next steps.
• Forecast staffing by project, location, timing, and skill; address shortages or overages with Operations and HR.
• Develop foremen; clarify work plans, responsibilities, priorities, and decision authority.
• Support field-team recruiting, onboarding, training, development, and retention.
• Lead foremen, right-hand leaders, and crews respectfully; use daily and weekly results to improve safety, quality, productivity, and schedules.
• Build dependable relationships with customers, general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Clearly communicate decisions, risks, responsibilities, and expected outcomes verbally and in writing.
• Ensure timely, accurate crew reports in company systems: site photos, videos, progress notes, timekeeping, absences, and project updates.

• Three to five years of construction leadership or project management experience. Experience with a subcontractor is strongly preferred.
• A detail-oriented work style and a record of following estimates, schedules, labor plans, documents, and commitments through to completion.
• Ability to read project information carefully, recognize scope or coordination risks, and solve problems before they affect the field.
• Ability to travel frequently. Projects are located across the country, and regular overnight and out-of-state job-site visits are expected 60%–70% of the time.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage several active projects, people, deadlines, and changing field conditions without losing track of details.
• Ability to forecast labor needs, maintain a safety-first job, and meet project performance expectations.
• OSHA 30 certification and the ability to complete all Hilti and lift-certification requirements within the first month of employment.
• Proven verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with field teams, customers, and internal departments.
• Sound judgment, practical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, share knowledge, and help field leaders and crews improve.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
