Job Description

Position Summary

The CMA II is a Patient Service Representative / Certified Medical Assistant dual-role position that supports both front-office patient access functions and routine clinical care. The position serves as a key point of contact throughout the patient visit, ensuring patients are welcomed and processed professionally while also assisting providers and licensed clinical staff with vital signs, basic testing, injections, electronic medical record documentation, and other patient-care support.

This is an on-site, patient-facing position. Regular in-office presence is an essential function because the role requires direct interaction with patients and caregivers, real-time collaboration with providers and staff, and secure handling of protected health information.

Role Integration and Work Assignment

The employee is expected to perform both PSR and CMA responsibilities. The amount of time devoted to each function may vary by clinic workflow, staffing levels, patient volume, provider schedules, and direction from the Site Coordinator or Nurse Manager. Regardless of daily assignment, the employee remains responsible for maintaining competency and readiness in both areas of the position.
