Job Description

Entry-Level Accountant / Accounting Assistant

Looking for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who is ready to begin building a career in the field. This position is a good fit for a recent graduate or someone with foundational accounting experience who wants practical, hands-on experience with day-to-day business accounting.
You’ll work in QuickBooks and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment processing, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping. We’re looking for someone with some QuickBooks exposure and a willingness to learn. As experience grows, the role may offer opportunities to take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Enter vendor bills and customer invoices in QuickBooks.
  • Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving records; follow up on discrepancies.
  • Review shipping records to help ensure customer invoices are accurate.
  • Process credit card payments and record transactions.
  • Record cash receipts and apply customer payments to the correct invoices.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper financial records.
  • Assist with filing, routine reports, and month-end accounting tasks.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and coworkers about billing and payment questions.
Qualifications
  • Recent education or coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred.
  • Some hands-on QuickBooks experience is required; this may come from a job, internship, or relevant training.
  • Basic understanding of invoices, payments, and account reconciliations.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and general office software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Professional communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
  • Able to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
