We are looking for a skilled and proactive journalist to cover breaking news and major national developments across politics, economics, justice, and other key public affairs topics. In this role, you will produce accurate, compelling, and reader-focused news content in a fast-paced digital newsroom. You will monitor current events, identify relevant stories, and develop distinctive angles that engage audiences while adhering to established editorial principles. You will use AI-powered tools to support research and streamline content production while maintaining rigorous human fact-checking and journalistic standards. The position offers autonomy to propose stories, manage competing deadlines, and contribute to the quality and reach of digital journalism. • Cover national news and current affairs across multiple subject areas, including politics, economics, justice, and other topics of public interest.
• Monitor breaking news, emerging developments, and major national events to identify timely and relevant reporting opportunities.
• Research, write, edit, and publish clear, accurate, concise, and engaging news articles in accordance with professional journalistic standards and Portuguese language conventions.
• Verify facts, assess source credibility, cross-check information, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of all published content.
• Propose original story ideas, identify compelling editorial angles, and develop coverage that responds to readers' interests while reflecting the publication's editorial guidelines.
• Use artificial intelligence tools responsibly to support research, improve productivity, and optimize newsroom workflows without compromising editorial independence or human verification.
• Manage multiple assignments and publication deadlines efficiently, balancing speed with accuracy and quality.
• Adapt writing styles and approaches to different subjects, audiences, and news formats while maintaining clarity, coherence, and consistency.
• Contribute to editorial planning and collaborate with colleagues to coordinate coverage, share information, and meet newsroom objectives.
• Maintain a reader-focused approach, considering audience needs, engagement, and content performance when developing stories.

• A completed university degree, preferably in Journalism or a related field.
• Valid professional journalist registration in Brazil (DRT/MTB).
• Previous experience producing journalistic content, preferably within a newsroom or digital media environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Brazilian Portuguese, with strong command of grammar, spelling, clarity, and text structure.
• Demonstrated ability to research, write, and publish news content accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong news judgment, curiosity, and the ability to identify relevant national developments and compelling reporting angles.
• Excellent fact-checking, research, and information verification skills, with a commitment to accuracy and responsible journalism.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and their practical applications in content creation, research, and editorial workflows.
