Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator

Office of the SVC and Provost - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26004324)

The University of Pittsburgh’s Educational Outreach Center (EOC) is actively seeking a Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator committed to advancing pathways to college for underserved and historically underrepresented pre-college students. The coordinator will work directly with youth to support student success, collaborate with team members to develop, and implement youth programming, and support the implementation of the EOC Strategic Outreach Plan to increase stakeholder engagement and program visibility. In addition, the coordinator will provide student advising, support communications and social media efforts, maintain program data, facilitate workshops, and cultivate partnerships that enhance student success.


Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience in educational outreach, college access, youth development, student services, advising, community engagement, or a related field.


Additional Qualifications
• Experience working with youth and families.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with Salesforce, student information systems, or similar databases.
• Experience creating communications materials and managing social media content preferred.
• Ability to work independently with weekly check-ins and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Job Summary

Coordinates enrichment programs for students. Advises on, implements and facilitates student programs. Assists in policy and procedure development. Ensures adherence to regulations, guidelines, and curriculum standards. Coordinates and distributes support materials to promote enrichment programs. Assists with implementing training and development programs.


Essential Functions

Educational Outreach and Engagement: Devise and execute outreach initiatives aimed at attracting and engaging youth scholars in pathway programs.
Stakeholder Communication & Partnership Development: Act as a central point of contact for designated pathway programs, maintaining regular communication with students, families, school administrators, university partners, and community organizations. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with K-12 schools, community organizations, university departments, and external stakeholders
Program Implementation: Oversee the effective implementation of pathway programs including Investing Now Pittsburgh Admissions Collaboration, Pittsburgh Public Scholars, Resilient Scholars Network, and related initiatives. This includes workshop and event facilitation, student advising and resource navigation, development of program materials, etc.
Student Advising and Support: Provide individualized college, career, and program advising and resource connection to students and families to support post-secondary planning and college readiness. Plan, facilitate, and support workshops, academic enrichment activities, family engagement events, college readiness programming, and special events.
Program Efficacy: Support continuous improvement efforts through assessment, feedback collection, consistent documentation, outcome tracking, and program evaluation activities.
Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate student records, advising notes, participation data, and assist with program reporting and outcome tracking.
Communications and Social Media Support: Support development of newsletters, outreach materials, presentations, website content, flyers, e-blasts, and social media communications to increase stakeholder engagement and program visibility.
Supervision: Train, supervise, and support student employees, tutors, mentors, and program assistants.

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift 25-50lbs.
