Job Summary

This role serves as the primary liaison between the policyholder and The Standard, supporting employers and employees with group life, disability, and leave-related inquiries. You will independently manage claim processes, coordinate death claims, and assist employees with filing claims, while ensuring accurate premium administration and contract interpretation. The role partners closely with HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams to resolve customer service, claims, and coverage issues, including escalations. You’ll also provide reporting on claim activity, support Evidence of Insurability tracking, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the customer experience and support business retention.

*The ability to work onsite in Miami, FL, 5 days per week is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for policyholders, employers, and employees on claims and coverage inquiries

  • Administer life, disability, and leave claims, including coordination of death claims

  • Resolve escalations related to claims, billing, and contract interpretation

  • Partner with HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams across multiple locations

  • Provide reporting on claims status, outstanding items, and Evidence of Insurability

Skills and Background You’ll Need

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: 3+ years of experience in FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and life insurance (employer, broker, or carrier)

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

  • Experience managing claims processes and resolving complex customer inquiries

  • Strong knowledge of benefit contract interpretation and premium administration

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and business units

  • Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on empathy and customer service

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience coordinating projects and cross-functional work

  • Experience supporting group life, disability, and leave programs in a corporate or insurance environment

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$66,000.00 - $96,250.00
