Howell's Kitchen & Bar | Atlanta, Georgia

$16-$20 an hour BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Howell's Kitchen & Bar is seeking experienced, dependable, and career-minded Line Cooks to join our kitchen team. Located in the heart of Atlanta, Howell's is a neighborhood restaurant and bar known for shareable appetizers, artisan pizzas, fresh salads, tavern classics, and one of the city's most popular patios. We take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere where friends, families, and neighbors gather for outstanding food, handcrafted cocktails, and memorable experiences.

We're looking for culinary professionals who take pride in consistency, work with urgency, and understand that every plate represents our restaurant. The ideal candidate is an experienced line cook who thrives in a high-volume kitchen, follows recipes and builds specifications precisely, maintains exceptional food quality, and works collaboratively with the entire kitchen team.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous line cook experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant is required
  • Multiple years of kitchen experience are strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of recipe execution and portion control
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality food during busy services
  • Commitment to following company recipes, build sheets, and plating standards every time
  • Strong sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
  • Excellent organization and station management skills

Position Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to company recipes and presentation standards
  • Execute every dish with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Maintain proper station setup, stocking, and organization throughout each shift
  • Complete daily line checks, temperature logs, and food quality checks
  • Follow all recipe builds, portion standards, and plating specifications
  • Maintain ticket times while preserving product quality during high-volume service
  • Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, expeditors, and management
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and sanitized throughout the shift
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store all food products
  • Assist with prep, inventory, receiving, and cleaning responsibilities as assigned
  • Complete all opening, running, and closing duties
  • Take ownership of every plate leaving your station
  • Help create a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Food Safety & Quality Standards

Great food starts with disciplined execution.

Our Line Cooks are expected to:

  • Follow all company recipes and build sheets without exception
  • Maintain consistent product quality regardless of business volume
  • Follow all local Health Department regulations and food safety requirements
  • Adhere to ServSafe principles and proper sanitation procedures
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, labeling, storage, and rotation
  • Protect the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times
Schedule & Availability

Howell's Kitchen & Bar is a busy neighborhood restaurant with fluctuating business levels throughout the week.

Applicants should have flexible availability, including:

  • Weekday and weekend shifts
  • Lunch and dinner service
  • Holidays and special events
  • Opening and closing shifts
  • Additional shifts during peak business periods

The strongest candidates understand that hospitality requires flexibility and are willing to grow alongside the restaurant.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of recent line cook experience preferred
  • High-volume restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with sauté, grill, pizza, fry, or pantry stations is a plus
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and ticket flow
  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Working knowledge of ServSafe and Health Department standards preferred
