Responsibilities
- Works with outside counsel, as directed and loan operations to insure all required documentation is gathered and sent to counsel prior to a demand being sent to delinquent customers.
- Orders and reviews such documents as flood certifications, appraisals, credit reports, Lexis-Nexis reports and environmental inspections.
- Insures all appropriate records, reports, and loan mitigation and managed assets documentation is obtained for each delinquent borrower and properly scanned in the appropriate electronic credit and/or legal file.
- Update and balance general ledgers on a monthly basis; research and resolve errors, as directed.
- As directed, assists with property management, with bank owned property, on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for letters sent to borrowers for the payment of real estate taxes and other town required taxes.
- Responsible for accurate bookkeeping of all expenses paid on behalf of the borrowers/property.
- Under direct supervision, works closely with loan servicing and accounting to ensure all payments are recorded accurately. Also works closely with loan servicing to ensure loans are booked appropriately, works with customers to resolve operational issues, obtains required documentation for ongoing file maintenance such as financial statements, tax returns, updated personal statements and resolution of documentation exceptions. Responds directly and in a timely manner to customer inquiries for information or problem resolution.
- Prepares and maintains special reports as requested, including but not limited to regulatory reports, collection activity reports, and meeting established deadlines for same.
- Completes all assigned administrative duties with respect to file maintenance, scanning, and correspondence requests, with high attention to details.
- Assists workout officers and the Credit Department in preparation of loan submissions, including but not limited to credit analyses and loan workout/restructure approval requests.
- Ensures full compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policies and Procedures.
- Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree or the equivalent is required
- 1-3 years prior experience in administrative role acting under broad guidelines for day-to-day activities. is preferred
- Must have prior banking experience.
- Must have strong attention to detail, organizational, customer service and communication skills.
- Must possess minimum technology skills, including Word and Excel processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
- Prior experience working with customers desirable.
- Must possess the ability to act independently under prescribed guidelines.
