Position Summary: Picture your office: sunshine, ocean breezes, and some of the best views in San Diego. As a Rooftop Bar Server on our 16th floor, you'll set the vibe for one of downtown's newest hangouts. You'll keep drinks flowing, plates moving, and guests relaxed, whether they're sitting at the bar, lounging poolside or catching the sunset with friends. You bring Tru spirit, energy and great service - let the view do the rest.

What You Will Do:

• Set up the pool deck and service areas before each shift, including stations, supplies, and seating
• Greet guests with a warm, upbeat welcome and make everyone feel like a regular
• Share the menu with confidence, including cocktails, beer, wine, and poolside bites
• Recommend favorites and specials that make each guest's visit even better
• Take orders accurately, paying close attention to allergies, dietary needs, and special requests
• Deliver food and drinks quickly while meeting presentation standards
• Check in with guests often and anticipate what they need before they ask
• Handle questions and concerns with a positive attitude and a focus on solutions
• Serve alcohol responsibly, including checking IDs and recognizing when a guest has had enough
• Follow poolside safety rules, including approved drinkware and keeping walkways clear and dry
• Work hand in hand with the bar and kitchen teams for smooth, timely service
• Process payments accurately and close out checks promptly
• Keep the bar area and pool deck clean, organized, and stocked throughout your shift
• Jump in to help teammates whenever it gets busy
• Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

• Restaurant, bar, or poolside serving experience
• An outgoing, friendly personality and a love for taking care of people
• Solid knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
• Confidence recommending items and creating a great guest experience
• Clear communication and strong people skills
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and quick on your feet when it's busy
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and tact
• Comfort working outdoors in variable weather conditions, including sun and heat
• Standing and walking for a full shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20–25 pounds
• Occasional bending, reaching, and stooping
• Frequent use of hands and fingers
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• A team-first attitude
• Must be at least 18 years old
• California Food Handler Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification, or the ability to obtain them within the timeframes required by state law
• Other duties as requested by management
