What You Will Be Doing
Working as a Facilities Operations Manager, you will lead the maintenance, safety, security, and overall management of multiple organizational facilities and properties of ISK. This role oversees facility operations, preventive maintenance programs, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, capital improvement projects, vendor and contractor relationships, and facility-related budgets. The position supervises staff, manages building systems and infrastructure, coordinates safety training and emergency response activities, and ensures compliance with CARF, MDHHS, MIOSHA, ADA, and other applicable standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, project management, and facilities management experience, with the ability to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant environments that support organizational operations and service delivery.
What We Require
You will have a Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of four years of progressively responsible facilities management experience. Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and grounds maintenance. Experience managing vendors, budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid Michigan driver's license required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts –Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing. Requires light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending, accessing roofs and climbing ladders. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot and ability to hear and communicate verbally.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
