Residential HVAC Service Technician

Location: Lancaster, PA

Department: HVAC Service

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Earn up to $70 per hour, weekly bonus incentives

Schedule: Friday–Monday | Four 10-hour shifts

Position Summary

Neffsville Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is seeking experienced Residential HVAC Service Technicians to join our growing Lancaster team.

In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems while providing homeowners with knowledgeable, professional service.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, takes ownership of each service call, and is committed to delivering quality workmanship and an exceptional customer experience.

This position offers a Friday–Monday schedule with four 10-hour shifts, guaranteed hours, overtime opportunities, and minimal to no on-call requirements.

What You'll Do

HVAC Service & Repair

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • Service heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including associated thermostats and controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and equipment evaluations.
  • Identify system concerns and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures.
  • Customer Service & Communication
  • Deliver a professional, positive customer experience on every service call.
  • Clearly explain system issues, recommended solutions, and completed repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, Dispatch, and other team members.
  • Accurately document work orders, materials used, service findings, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and treat customers' homes with care and respect.

Operational Excellence

  • Coordinate with Dispatch to support efficient scheduling and routing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company service vehicle.
  • Properly operate and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Previous residential HVAC service experience.
  • Availability to work Friday through Monday, four 10-hour shifts.
  • Strong HVAC diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems, components, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move HVAC tools, equipment, and materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of residential or light commercial HVAC experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical school education or HVAC-related certifications.
  • Experience servicing a variety of residential heating and cooling systems.

Schedule

  • This is a full-time position with a dedicated four-day work week.
  • Friday–Monday: Four 10-hour shifts.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily in residential homes and service environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to safely lift and move HVAC equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must follow company safety procedures and applicable HVAC codes.
