We are currently seeking a Clinical Case Manager to work remotely. This is a full-time, exempt position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Case Manager provides advanced clinical consultation and case management support for the Client Relations team and priority customer accounts. The role manages complex formal referrals and other high-level clinical matters from initial consultation through assessment, treatment coordination, monitoring, and case closure. Working in close partnership with Client Relations Managers, organizational stakeholders, treatment providers, and internal clinical resources, this position helps ensure clinically sound, timely, well-documented, and high-quality service delivery.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DUTIES:
- Serve as a senior clinical resource to the Client Relations team for complex formal referrals, high-risk situations, and other cases requiring advanced clinical judgment or coordination. Manage assigned formal referrals and complex clinical cases from initial consultation through assessment, treatment coordination, monitoring, and closure, consistent with contractual requirements and established procedures.
- Consult with Client Relations Managers to clarify referral scope, roles, communication expectations, service requirements, and next steps before and throughout case management.
- Serve as the clinical liaison among referring organizations, individual clients, evaluators, treatment providers, and other authorized stakeholders while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Coordinate clinically appropriate assessments, treatment referrals, fitness-for-duty or related evaluations, and follow-up services based on the needs and requirements of each case.
- Monitor case progress, identify barriers or emerging risks, and escalate significant clinical, operational, customer, or safety concerns to appropriate internal leaders.
- Provide timely consultation and responsive support for acute or time-sensitive referrals, including coordination with internal crisis, clinical, and operational teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete case documentation and customer-related activity in required clinical and customer relationship management systems.
- Partner with the Managing Director, Director of Client Relations, and assigned Client Relations Managers to support customer expectations, service quality, retention, and resolution of complex clinical concerns.
- Participate in customer meetings, case reviews, implementation discussions, and presentations when clinical expertise or formal-referral oversight is needed.
- Support special projects and other clinical account needs based on customer complexity, business priorities, and team capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master-level clinician.
- Fully licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
- Prior EAP experience managing formal referral and/or fitness-for-duty evaluations; account management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health and substance use assessment and treatment.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Account management, customer consultation, training, or presentation experience preferred.
- Experience supporting complex organizations, healthcare environments, labor organizations, safety-sensitive workforces, or other high-touch customer populations preferred.
