This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who wants to see their work progress from an initial concept and engineering drawing to a fully manufactured, tested, and operating water treatment system.
You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, combining mechanical design, project coordination, product development, manufacturing support, testing, and commissioning support. The position is especially well-suited for an engineer with at least two years of relevant experience who wants to expand their technical expertise and grow within the water treatment industry.
What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to help move projects from design through successful delivery.
- Develop General Arrangement drawings, P&IDs/process flow diagrams, piping and equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, and 2D/3D models using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation for projects in production.
- Assist with the selection and specification of pumps, valves, piping, pressure vessels, instrumentation, and other mechanical components.
- Coordinate engineering requirements with production to help keep projects aligned with specifications and schedules.
- Develop project timelines and track engineering and manufacturing progress.
- Participate in the testing and evaluation of water treatment systems, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
- Support the development of testing equipment, tools, and procedures.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input related to design, manufacturing, testing, and project requirements.
- Support the design, development, and continuous improvement of water treatment systems and new products.
- Prepare equipment specifications, technical data sheets, operation and maintenance manuals, and other project documentation.
- Work directly with manufacturing teams to support fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing.
- Provide technical support for commissioning and field activities as needed.
- Communicate with internal teams, vendors, customers, and other project stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring

- Piping systems, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment.
- Bills of Materials and manufacturing documentation.
- Reverse osmosis, desalination, filtration, or other water treatment technologies.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Previous water treatment experience is beneficial, but it is not required.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an engineer who is technically curious, practical, and eager to learn. Someone who enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges and wants to see a project progress from drawings and calculations to fabricated equipment and a fully operating system.
