The Opportunity

The Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership (BRHP), which operates the Baltimore Housing Mobility Program, is a 501(c)(3) that assists over 4,000 qualified families in moving from areas of concentrated poverty and obtaining quality and affordable housing in communities with strong schools, low crime, and ample job opportunities in high opportunity areas within Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties.

BRHP is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who is aligned with the mission above and experienced in nonprofit and government financial operations, while overseeing specific financial transactions for the organization, including ensuring the seamless processing of rental payments to property partners that lease to housing mobility participants. The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Finance Director. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and scope of the work for the Senior Staff Accountant. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required.

Assist with monthly payment process of approximately $9 million Manage credit card transactions recording in the accounting system (Intuit Enterprise Suite, IES) and collection of receipts Manage deposit handling and transaction recording in the accounting system and treasury management system Manage repayment agreement transactions in Yardi and IES Manage donation transactions recording in IES Process new owners set-up and change of ownership in Yardi Provide staff support to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors Assist with the yearly financial and single audits and tax returns Assist with special projects Provide support to the Finance Operations Director Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required Minimum of three years’ experience in financial operations of a nonprofit organization that receives federal funds Advanced knowledge of financial management and internal controls Adept with QuickBooks Products and Microsoft Excel 

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Yardi database Experience processing Accounts Payable Familiarity with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Voucher Management System (VMS)
