Position Summary
Fortis Life Sciences is seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Director Human Resources to lead enterprise HR across a growing multi-site organization while also serving as the primary HR Business Partner for the Antibody Business Unit based in Montgomery, Texas.
This leader will play a critical role in shaping culture, building trust across the organization, and helping Fortis scale while maintaining a people-first mindset. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who leads with humility, accountability, sound judgment, and authenticity. They must be equally comfortable partnering with executives on strategic initiatives and engaging directly with employees and managers across the business.
This role will oversee enterprise HR programs, infrastructure, and talent strategy while leading an HR team supporting multiple U.S. and Canada locations. The ideal candidate brings executive presence, operational excellence, and a genuine passion for developing people and organizations in a fast-paced growth environment.
This position is hybrid, with an expectation of at least three days per week in the Montgomery, Texas office.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic HR partner to executive leadership and Antibody Business Unit leaders.
- Lead enterprise-wide HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, organizational development, compensation and benefits, HR operations, and compliance.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a distributed HR team supporting multiple business units and locations.
- Drive workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, and organizational readiness initiatives.
- Partner with leaders to build high-performing teams and foster a strong, values-driven culture grounded in accountability, respect, and collaboration.
- Lead employee relations, coaching, and performance management efforts with consistency, empathy, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues and site leadership to establish scalable best practices while maintaining flexibility for local operational needs.
- Oversee HR systems, policies, reporting, and processes that support continued organizational growth and operational excellence.
- Lead internal communication and employee engagement initiatives that strengthen organizational alignment, transparency, and trust.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, inclusion, and open communication.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive human resources experience, including 5–7 years in HR leadership roles.
- Experience in the life sciences industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site organizations and distributed teams.
- Proven success in developing and implementing scalable HR programs and organizational initiatives.
- Experience leading employee engagement, talent management, and organizational development efforts.
- Budget management experience preferred.

Work Environment & Travel
This role requires a strong on-site leadership presence, including regular time at Fortis locations. The position is expected to maintain a minimum presence in the Montgomery, TX office weekly, with periodic travel to other Fortis sites within the US and Canada, as needed.
Travel requirement: approximately 10-15%.
