Description:

A Manufacturing Engineer – Production Technical Manager for electro-mechanical products is responsible for engineering support for products after development is completed and when they are released to production. A Manufacturing Engineer – Production Technical Manager understands how to leverage their electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge and current manufacturing capabilities to streamline the manufacture of current and new product designs. They can lead cross-functional teams and production technicians to resolve any technical and product specific manufacturing issues that arise and to continuously improve production processes and the quality of the products produced.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical expertise on all assigned products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve new or reoccurring manufacturing issues of technical products
  • Instigate engineering change requests (ECR) and support the implementation of engineering change orders (ECO)
  • Instigate requests for temporary deviation authorizations (TDA) and support implementation
  • Research manufacturing techniques to support assigned projects
  • Improve test protocols, work instructions, and fixturing
  • Sustain and improve equipment and fixture maintenance processes and procedures
  • Provide design for manufacturability feedback to engineering and development teams
  • Participate as a member of the technical review boards for applicable projects
  • Understand and conduct work practices in compliance with current Quality Management Systems
  • Work closely with the Quality team to reduce internal and external quality failures
  • Participate in training of production technicians, trainers, and assemblers as needed
  • Other industrial engineering duties as assigned
Requirements:

Skills:

  • Ability to lead large projects
  • Ability to communicate independently and effectively with all levels of management
  • Advanced knowledge of product designs and manufacturing process techniques
  • Proven experience in managing technical teams and projects
  • Strong knowledge of technical systems, tools, and software
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct electro-mechanical issues with products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to technical projects
  • Experience in developing and implementing technical strategies and roadmaps

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent required
  • 5 years electro-mechanical product design experience required
  • Coursework in Design for Manufacturability a plus
  • Certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training a plus

Job Detail:

Essential Functions:

  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (when required)
  • Use of upper body, arms, and hands throughout the day
  • Lifting 10-20 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching overhead throughout the day to reach materials to move or pickup
  • Normal color vision due to different colored wires (corrected vision acceptable)
  • Able to work regularly with epoxy, glues, sealants
