CDL Truck Driver - Newark in Newark, New Jersey at ALFF CONSTRUCTION LLC

General Position Summary

As a CDL Truck Driver employed by Alff Construction, completes assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner. Performs quality work that meets the customer and owner’s expectations. Communicates with peers and upper-level management effectively and clearly.

This role will have extensive knowledge of the industry in driving and hauling materials and equipment. This role will be organized, maintain a high- level of customer service in all dealings, be very dependable and have superior time management ability. Alff’s equipment with GPS tracking, e-logs, and dashcams with event detection. Drivers must be safety minded and will follow all applicable laws and regulations for the associated work.

Travel (% of work period)

As needed, which may include overnight stays.

Essential Job Functions

· Follow instructions from supervisors to perform deliveries to assigned locations

· Will deliver salt and brine and haul other materials and equipment

· Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

· Abide by safety procedures when using equipment

· Equipment operations and loading, and safe load securement

· Performs all duties assigned by management in a timely and safe manner

· Professional driving attitude

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Background in driving and hauling materials and equipment.
• Experience with bulk hopper trailers, tanks, equipment trailers (Flatbed, detach, step-deck), bulk tanks and tank trailers
• Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Must have experience in bulk transportation/equipment hauling.
• Must be 25 years old
• Must have current Class A CDL and DOT medical Exam and Commercial Motor Vehicle Certification with tank endorsement. Hazmat not required.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, writing and understand English.

Computer Skills: Quick learning ability for new database programs, proficient navigation of communication platforms (such as GPS Mobile application, etc.), and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs.
