Build the Components That Become the Finished Boat

Boater’s World Manufacturing Group is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented CNC Cutter to join our growing marine manufacturing operation in Chocowinity, NC.

The CNC Cutter is responsible for operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) cutting equipment used to produce boat components and materials according to established specifications, digital patterns, and production requirements.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position where accuracy, consistency, quality, and safety matter every day. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating computerized production equipment, following precise measurements and work instructions, inspecting finished cuts, and maintaining an organized production area.

Previous CNC or automated cutting experience is strongly preferred; experience within boat manufacturing, composites, upholstery, woodworking, fabrication, or a similar production environment is a plus.

What You’ll Do

CNC Machine Operation

• Operate CNC cutting equipment to produce components according to digital patterns, measurements, and production specifications.
• Select and load the appropriate cutting programs based on assigned production orders.
• Load, position, and secure materials properly before beginning the cutting process.
• Monitor CNC equipment throughout each cutting cycle to ensure accurate and consistent operation.
• Make approved machine adjustments when necessary to maintain cut quality and production standards.
• Safely start, stop, and operate equipment according to established procedures.
• Complete assigned production work while maintaining quality and efficiency expectations.

Measurement & Quality

• Review work orders, digital patterns, measurements, and specifications before cutting materials.
• Verify dimensions and inspect completed pieces for accuracy and overall quality.
• Identify incorrect cuts, material defects, or other quality concerns before components move to the next stage of production.
• Minimize material waste through proper setup, placement, and machine operation.
• Report recurring quality concerns, equipment issues, or pattern discrepancies to leadership.
• Maintain accurate identification and organization of completed components.

Material & Production Support

• Prepare and stage materials for upcoming production runs.
• Safely handle materials used throughout the boat manufacturing process.
• Organize completed components for transfer to the appropriate production department.
• Maintain appropriate material identification and separation throughout the cutting process.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and other manufacturing teams to keep work flowing efficiently.
• Assist with other production responsibilities when needed based on manufacturing demand.

Equipment & Safety

• Perform basic daily equipment inspections and routine operator-level maintenance.
• Keep CNC equipment and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damaged tooling, or maintenance concerns promptly.
• Follow all machine guarding, PPE, lockout/tagout, and company safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe working environment and immediately communicate potential safety concerns.
