This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager - Data in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering leadership, data-driven product development, and mission-critical public healthcare systems. You will lead and grow high-performing engineering teams responsible for building and modernizing data-intensive applications that support national healthcare quality reporting programs. In a remote-first and highly collaborative environment, you will partner closely with product, design, and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-centered solutions. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, architectural input, and delivery ownership. It is an opportunity to shape engineering culture while advancing meaningful healthcare outcomes at scale.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and delivering robust data-centric software solutions while ensuring technical excellence, delivery predictability, and strong team performance.

  • Lead one or more software engineering teams, driving execution, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across delivery processes and standards.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable and high-quality software solutions supporting healthcare data and reporting systems.
  • Partner with product management to align engineering priorities with product vision, roadmap, and organizational objectives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and career development support to engineers while fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices to ensure system reliability and maintainability.
  • Support resource planning, hiring, and team scaling efforts to meet evolving product and delivery needs.
  • Drive operational efficiency by improving workflows, engineering practices, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong engineering leadership experience, a solid technical foundation, and a proven ability to manage teams delivering complex software systems in Agile environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or data engineering tools such as Databricks.
  • Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and team building.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time in a structured and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience contributing to architectural decisions and guiding technical direction.

Additional requirements include US citizenship or Green Card status, at least 3 years of US residency, and eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance following a federal background investigation.

Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary range of $138,600 – $163,300

  • Flexible work schedule supporting work-life balance
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and employer-paid vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with 3% safe harbor employer contribution
  • Health savings account (HSA) options with employer contribution
  • Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
