Due to our continued growth, we are hiring, Director of Accounting & Financial Planning
Role Overview: The Director of Accounting & Financial Planning will serve as a key leader within the finance team, owning the integrity of L7’s financial operations while driving strategic financial planning and insight. This role is responsible for end-to-end accounting oversight, including close, compliance, and audit, while also leading forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making. As a senior partner to the VP of Finance & Talent, this individual will play a critical role in scaling financial infrastructure, building processes, and developing a high-performing finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Controllership
- Own and oversee the full financial cycle utilizing software solutions including Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify ensuring quality control over transactions and related policies and systemsEnsure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and reportingManage, develop and retain a team of accounting professionalsEstablish and enforce accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 606Lead all audit activities, including external audits and internal control readinessOversee tax compliance, including multi-state and federal requirementsDesign and implement scalable accounting processes, systems, and internal controlsProvide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and business changesEvaluate and optimize financial systems (Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.)
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own company-wide budgeting and forecasting processesLead development of financial models to support strategic planning and growth initiativesDeliver executive-level reporting, including board materials and KPI dashboardsProvide insights into business performance, profitability, and cost optimizationPartner with leadership on headcount planning, investment decisions, and resource allocationLead scenario planning and support key strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) or Finance10–12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financeStrong technical accounting expertise (US GAAP, ASC 606 required)Proven experience leading accounting functions and managing auditsExperience owning or leading budgeting and forecasting processesDemonstrated ability to build and scale finance processes in a high-growth environmentStrong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teamsExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA strongly preferredExperience in SaaS or software industryExperience with multi-entity and/or international operationsBackground in both public accounting and industry (ideal)Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/accounting systems
