Houston Racquet Club is looking for an energetic, organized, and inspiring Head Swim Coach to lead our swim program.
About the RoleAs our Head Swim Coach, you will serve as the leader of our aquatics program—developing swimmers, mentoring coaches, building relationships with families, and creating a positive team culture.
You will oversee all aspects of the swim team, including practices, meets, staff development, communication, and program administration. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines coaching, organization, and relationship-building.
What You'll Do- Coach swimmers of all ages and skill levels
- Plan and lead engaging, effective swim practices
- Supervise swimmers during practices, meets, and aquatic activities
- Attend and lead all swim meets
- Recruit, develop, and retain swim team participants
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches
- Create staff schedules and manage payroll submissions
- Coordinate volunteers and meet logistics
- Communicate regularly with parents, swimmers, and coaching staff
- Teach swim lessons and aquatic programs as needed
- Track swimmer progress, meet results, and team achievements
- Assist with budgeting and program planning
- Contribute aquatics-related content for Club communications and newsletters
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pool environment
- Enforce Club rules, safety procedures, and standards of conduct

- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required
- Prior swim coaching experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and swim meets
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
