Senior Manager, Alumni Engagement

This role sits at the heart of a global alumni engagement strategy focused on building lifelong, meaningful connections within a mission-driven community.
You will lead the execution of high-impact alumni programs that strengthen relationships between alumni, staff, and participants across multiple regions.
The position blends program management, relationship building, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
You will oversee mentorship initiatives, community engagement efforts, and alumni participation in immersive experiences and leadership programs.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and relational leader who can translate strategy into scalable systems and engaging experiences.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams to expand alumni impact and enhance teen-facing programming through alumni involvement.

Accountabilities:

Lead and execute alumni engagement initiatives by managing key programs, systems, and partnerships that strengthen lifelong community connection.

  • Oversee the Alumni Mentorship Program including recruitment, onboarding, communications, stewardship, speaker coordination, evaluation, and participant experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni mentors, speakers, volunteers, and community leaders to drive sustained engagement.
  • Coordinate alumni micro-grants and local engagement opportunities that foster community-driven experiences.
  • Implement local alumni engagement strategies in collaboration with regional teams, serving as a key connector between alumni and staff.
  • Facilitate alumni involvement in teen programming, including mentorship, speaking engagements, and volunteer leadership opportunities.
  • Develop scalable systems and processes to improve alumni identification, engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Support alumni participation in major experiences such as conventions, retreats, and summer programs while tracking engagement metrics and optimizing impact.
  • Execute segmented communication strategies across email, newsletters, and digital platforms to enhance alumni engagement and participation.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required.

  • 3–5 years of experience in alumni relations, community engagement, nonprofit programming, experiential education, or stakeholder management.
  • Strong background in managing complex, relationship-driven programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with volunteers, alumni, mentors, and external partners.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience translating strategic goals into operational plans, systems, and high-quality user experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse groups.
  • Ability to use data, feedback, and engagement metrics to improve programs and decision-making.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and change.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Passion for community impact, leadership development, and mission-driven work.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • U.S. work authorization required without sponsorship.
