This role sits at the core of a modern cloud-first IT environment, where you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing a complex Microsoft-based infrastructure. You will work extensively with Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies to ensure systems are highly available, scalable, and aligned with organizational needs. The position blends hands-on systems administration with strategic input on architecture, automation, and security improvements. You will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders while operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership. The environment is dynamic and innovation-driven, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, reliability, and security. This is an opportunity to shape enterprise-level systems while working independently on impactful technical challenges.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize Azure and Microsoft 365 environments to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across systems.
  • Manage Entra ID configurations, including authentication, identity governance, and conditional access policies.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 licensing, resource allocation, and usage tracking to ensure cost efficiency and compliance.
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Defender, Purview, and related security tools to protect systems and corporate data.
  • Lead incident response activities, vulnerability mitigation, and enforcement of security policies using best practices and threat intelligence.
  • Implement data protection, retention policies, and compliance controls including eDiscovery within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Develop automation scripts and processes (e.g., PowerShell, Azure Automation) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain technical documentation, generate system performance and security reports, and ensure accurate reporting of tasks and activities.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in IT with strong expertise in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, Virtual Desktop, File Storage) and Microsoft 365 security/compliance tools.
  • Strong experience with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), including advanced identity and access management configurations.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Defender, Azure Identity Protection, and enterprise security fundamentals such as conditional access.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell or Azure Automation tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% within the United States.
Benefits:
  • Competitive and flexible salary structure aligned with experience and expertise.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, including options for dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match and brokerage account options.
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
  • Paid time off, including additional holiday period closure at year-end.
  • Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Paid parental leave after eligibility period.
  • Professional development support, including training, certification, and tuition reimbursement.
  • Opportunities to work on advanced Microsoft cloud technologies in a high-impact environment.
