Job Description
POSITION GOAL
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy Department in the most efficient manner possible. Ensure the Physical Therapy department is meeting the needs of the patients as well as the physicians.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide oversight for development, direction and coordination of all Physically Therapy staff.
• Responsible for updating PT policies and procedures.
• Responsible for reviewing PT workflow and processes to ensure billing and documentation requirements are met daily, such as PT orders, procedure documentation, signed forms. etc.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining departmental budgets, reporting on variances in budget system monthly and overall oversight of budget.
• Provide oversight for development, direction and coordination of all Physically Therapy staff.
• Responsible for maintaining all PT regulatory guidelines and standards.
• Manage all aspects of PT inventory management, including but not limited to: supply ordering, receiving, stocking, payment of supplier invoices, reviewing and facilitating all requests for new products, reporting product abnormalities, ensuring staff are appropriately trained and scheduled to meet all patient needs.
• Assist staff and physicians in problem solving in regard to the type of brace and fitting that best suits the patient and their specific needs.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and corporate staff.
• Ensure PT staff are providing direct patient care activities as assigned.
• Responsible for ensuring that quality patient care is being provided by all therapists.
• Ensure that all physicians’ needs are met regarding rehabilitative services.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Rehab department is Medicare compliant and that billing is appropriate.
• Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy (PT) treatments for patients suffering from injuries or disease and to restore function, prevent disability and relieve pain.
• Consults with physicians and/or other departments about the impact of PT factors on patient heath status.
• Find Documents, treatments and other patient information for medical record as necessary.
• Bill patients according to proper procedures.
• Educate patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises.
• Performs a staff meeting at a frequency they desire but no less than quarterly.
• Serve as an information and education resource for patients, families and other members of the therapy staff.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Recommend solutions to patient care problems and maintain patient confidentiality.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Required:
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.
Preferred:
• Two (2) years supervisory experience in health care setting.
Education:
Required:
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
• Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
• Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
• May require working at multiple locations.
• Must have a current state license in PT or PTA.
• Must maintain BLS certification.
