Job Description
Canyon Crest Event Center is seeking dependable and professional On-Call Event Servers to assist with weddings, banquets, corporate events, celebrations, and other special events.
This is an on-call, event-based position, with shifts offered according to the needs of the event schedule. There are no guaranteed weekly hours. Servers may be contacted when additional staff are needed and may accept shifts based on their availability.
The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, attentive to guests' needs, and comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Provide professional and courteous service to guests throughout events.
- Assist with setting up dining rooms, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service areas.
- Assist with buffet setup and replenishment.
- Serve food and beverages according to event specifications.
- Clear tables, dishes, glassware, and other items throughout the event.
- Maintain clean and organized guest and service areas.
- Assist guests with questions and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Follow event-specific instructions provided by the Event Manager or Supervisor.
- Assist with event breakdown and cleanup at the conclusion of each event.
- Maintain proper food-handling and sanitation practices.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, bartenders, event staff, and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Previous serving, catering, banquet, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when scheduled.
- Food Handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one.
- This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours.
- Employees will be contacted when event staffing needs arise.
- Employees may accept or decline available shifts based on their availability.
- Once a shift is accepted, the employee is expected to arrive on time and be prepared to work the entire scheduled shift.
- Event schedules may vary from week to week, and shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, dishes, supplies, and other items as needed.
- Ability to bend, reach, and move efficiently throughout an event space.
- Ability to lift approximately 25–50 pounds as needed.
Event Servers work in a busy hospitality and event environment. Events may include weddings, corporate functions, banquets, celebrations, and other private events. The pace and responsibilities may vary depending on the size and type of event.
