Description
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) works with other units throughout campus to seek external support for faculty research, scholarships, creative activities, and institutional projects that support the educational and service mission of the university.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Research and Sponsored Programs, the Special Project Data Analyst will provide a range of technical, clerical, and editorial support needed for ORSP AVP’s special projects and both short as well as long-term impact study. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain valuable experience in a professional academic environment.
*Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding or new Grant/Contract.
Essential Duties- Perform general office tasks, including database general, impact assessment, creation of customized forms and summary reports, creation of data-informed impact related presentation documents for AVP-ORSP.
- Review and evaluate ORSP funded projects – internal and external – and create annual reports for each program.
- Administer data entry, document creation, dashboard generation, and spreadsheet management (Excel/Smartsheet) for ORSP sponsored projects.
- Maintain and update ORSP databases, including importing/exporting information and reports.
- Provide support to CSUF team on Faculty360 data entry and analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Adobe, Smartsheet, and other programming
- Experience and knowledge on Survey Design; Data Analysis; Tableau; Interactive Prototyping; Figma; and Canva
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented
EDUCATION:
- Minimum Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
