Job Description

Senior Revenue Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant based in the United States.

This role sits at the center of a fast-growing SaaS organization’s revenue operations, owning the full revenue accounting lifecycle from billing to recognition. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across invoicing, collections, and deferred revenue processes. The position offers significant exposure to cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, Client Success, and Legal, making it highly collaborative and business-facing. You will support both day-to-day execution and strategic initiatives such as process optimization, ERP enhancements, and acquisition integrations. With responsibility for ASC 606 compliance and month-end revenue close activities, this role combines technical accounting depth with operational impact. It is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a virtual-first, high-accountability environment. Your work will directly contribute to improving financial clarity and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the end-to-end revenue cycle, including client invoicing, billing accuracy, accounts receivable management, collections, and dispute resolution activities in a timely and structured manner.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue recognition schedules, deferred revenue reconciliations, and monthly journal entries aligned with ASC 606 requirements.
  • Monitor key revenue metrics such as DSO, unbilled revenue, collections performance, and billing accuracy, providing insights to leadership.
  • Support month-end close processes, audit requests, and financial reporting related to revenue, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure proper contract setup, revenue treatment, and billing configurations.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, ERP optimization (NetSuite), and acquisition integrations.
  • Provide guidance and coordination to accounting team members on billing and revenue-related activities, acting as a subject matter expert.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA or CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a senior or lead accounting role.
  • Strong SaaS industry experience, with hands-on exposure to revenue recognition and billing processes.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated expertise applying ASC 606 to complex contracts and revenue arrangements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, with strong preference for NetSuite experience, and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Proven experience managing accounts receivable, collections, deferred revenue, and contract review processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and coordinate work across teams without formal managerial authority.
  • Experience in audit preparation and process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
Benefits:
  • $100,000 – $105,000 annual salary range
  • Virtual-first, fully remote work environment
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage (multiple plan options)
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance (employee coverage)
  • Life insurance coverage (employee benefit)
  • Home office setup support for new team members
