Claims Support Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Claims Support Specialist based in the United States.

This role plays a key operational and analytical function within mortgage servicing claims processes, supporting accurate, timely, and compliant claim submissions across multiple agencies. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure claims are properly prepared, filed, and monitored throughout their lifecycle. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret servicing guidelines, and confidence working within structured financial and legal frameworks. You will also contribute to audits, exception reviews, and process improvement initiatives that enhance data integrity and operational efficiency. In addition to core claims work, you will support training, documentation maintenance, and escalation resolution within the team. This is a fast-paced environment where accuracy, accountability, and clear communication directly impact outcomes for homeowners and stakeholders.

Accountabilities:
  • Prepare and submit mortgage insurance and agency claims for acquired or sold properties in accordance with applicable guidelines
  • Conduct monthly process control and vendor audits, documenting findings and reporting results to management
  • Review exception reports to ensure system data integrity and identify operational trends or issues
  • Support resolution of escalated issues within the team’s scope and provide guidance on complex cases
  • Assist in preparing file packages and documentation for internal and external audits
  • Draft and manage written communications across internal departments to ensure timely resolution of claim-related issues
  • Contribute to the maintenance of departmental procedures, job aids, and process documentation
  • Support training efforts for new and existing employees within the claims function
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve workflows and ensure compliance
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, mortgage insurance claims, foreclosure processes, or related legal/financial field
  • Strong understanding of mortgage industry practices, claims workflows, and foreclosure guidelines
  • Experience working with mortgage servicing platforms (LPS/MSP preferred)
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and make sound operational decisions
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a structured environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Preferred: prior leadership or mentoring experience (1+ year)
