Job Description
This position reports directly to the Food Service Director. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking pizzas, general food prep, and ensuring high-quality food meets our standards. The role also involves providing excellent customer service, handling food orders, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
This is a part-time position, not to exceed 29 hours. Wednesdays and Sundays are a must. It is classified as Non-Exempt with no benefits. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
Essential Functions:
· Cooking, Pizza making
· Preps, cooks and fulfills orders
· Support for catering events and catering pickup orders
· Requires working on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s and occasional evenings when necessary
· Adhere to standard operating procedures for food quality and food handling.
· Keeps a Registered Food Manager’s certificate current.
· Performs other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.
Experience and Education:
· Minimum of 3 years in food prep and cooking in a commercial kitchen or restaurant setting.
· Previous Food and Beverage industry experience
· Highly organized and detailed oriented
· Able and willing to take direction
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry items while walking
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Strong Customer Service and Communication skills
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Reliable and dependable
· Professional in appearance, manner and tone
· A team player who possesses the ability to work in a team environment
· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
It is expected that the Cook will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
