Job Description
Eco Express is hiring a CDL Driver / Hydroseeder Operator to move equipment, materials, and supplies between our yard and active jobsites, and to run our 4,000-gallon hydroseeder in the field.
This is a hands-on driving role. You will spend part of your day behind the wheel and part of it on site — loading, securing, applying hydroseed, and working alongside our crews. If you hold a CDL, take DOT compliance seriously, and would rather be outdoors than in a warehouse, this is a good fit.
What You Will Do
Driving and Transport
- Operate company trucks and commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials according to applicable regulations and company procedures.
- Verify that loads are properly distributed and secured before transport.
- Navigate construction sites, staging areas, and varying jobsite conditions safely.
**Hydroseeder Operation**
- Drive and operate a 4,000-gallon hydroseeder at jobsites.
- Prepare and load hydroseed mixtures.
- Operate the hydroseeding equipment to apply seed, mulch, fertilizer, and other materials.
- Monitor equipment during operation.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance.
- Transport the hydroseeder to and from jobsites in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety requirements.
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain driver logs, inspection reports, delivery documentation, and other required records.
- Follow DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- Report accidents, vehicle damage, citations, or safety concerns immediately.
Team and Jobsite Support
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and other field personnel on deliveries and equipment transportation.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and general jobsite activities as needed.
- Keep the assigned company vehicle clean and in safe operating condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of field and construction operations.
What You Need
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current DOT medical certification.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safe commercial driving practices.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in construction and jobsite environments.
- Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and identify basic maintenance or safety concerns.
- Dependable attendance and on-time reporting.
- Clear communication and a professional approach with crews, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Ability to pass required drug and alcohol testing under applicable regulations and company policy.
Helpful to Have
- CDL driving experience in construction, grading, excavation, utility, or heavy civil work.
- Experience transporting construction equipment and materials.
- Experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, lowboys, or similar commercial vehicles.
- Experience securing heavy equipment and construction loads.
- Hydroseeding, erosion control, or landscape/seeding experience.
- Tanker or other applicable CDL endorsements.
