Job Description

Description:

Hyper Solutions is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead engineering execution for our Integrated Modular Systems (IMS) and Prefabricated Power Module (PPM) projects. This role coordinates complex, multidisciplinary work from requirements and design development through manufacturing, integration, testing, and final turnover.

You’ll serve as the primary engineering coordination point for assigned projects, partnering with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Test Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Applications Engineering, external partners, and equipment suppliers.

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for coordinating engineering execution and driving technical issues to resolution. Technical design decisions remain with the responsible engineers and discipline managers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering execution for assigned IMS and PPM projects from kickoff through manufacturing, testing, and final turnover.
  • Develop and manage engineering schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical-path activities, aligning technical work with production and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, test, sustaining, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners.
  • Translate customer and project requirements into clear engineering deliverables, and track the release of drawings, bills of materials, specifications, controls documentation, and other technical information.
  • Coordinate system interfaces across Hyper-designed and third-party equipment, ensuring integration requirements are defined, assigned, and resolved before assembly and testing.
  • Lead engineering design and readiness reviews, documenting decisions and driving assigned actions to completion.
  • Coordinate engineering readiness for manufacturing, subsystem testing, and integrated factory acceptance, design verification, and customer witness testing.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, engineering changes, supplier dependencies, and schedule impacts. Escalate issues that could affect project commitments.
  • Provide clear project updates to Engineering leadership and stakeholders, including milestones, open decisions, risks, and resource needs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical requirements, documentation, configurations, and support needs with equipment suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Partner with Test Engineering and other technical owners to prepare for testing and track deficiencies through correction and retesting, as needed.
  • Work with Applications Engineering, Sales, and Operations to resolve customer requirement gaps and align engineering, production, and test schedules.
  • Support manufacturing partners, factory testing, integration, and project site activities, including travel as needed.
  • Route recurring released-product issues to Sustaining Engineering while maintaining project visibility through resolution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting complex engineered products, integrated systems, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering projects and coordinating multiple technical disciplines.
  • Experience with manufacturing, system integration, validation, commissioning, or production launch of complex equipment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Strong project planning, risk management, problem-solving, written communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical priorities and drive action owners to completion.
  • Experience with ClickUp or equivalent project management software, Microsoft Office and Excel, PLM/PDM and ERP/BOM systems, and PDF drawing review and markup tools.
  • Flexibility to coordinate across time zones, manufacturing partners, suppliers, OEMs, and project sites.
  • Ability to travel as needed for manufacturing partner support, testing, integration, and site activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mission-critical or data center power infrastructure.
  • Experience with low- or medium-voltage power distribution systems, switchboards or switchgear, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static transfer systems, generators, or automatic transfer systems.
  • Experience with modular or prefabricated electrical systems, e-houses, skids, or similar integrated systems.
  • Experience with factory acceptance testing (FAT), design verification testing (DVT), factory witness testing (FWT), commissioning, or integrated systems testing.
  • Familiarity with UL, NFPA, NEC, IEC, or related electrical standards.
  • Experience coordinating OEM equipment suppliers and managing firmware and configuration dependencies.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience with formal engineering change control.

Why Hyper?
