Registration Clerk at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital – Clinton, Missouri

Requirements:
Experience working with personal computers.
Type 40 WPM is required.
Switchboard experience is desired.
Must have HS diploma or GED.
Ability to communicate via email.
Be able to work holidays, weekends, days, evenings and nights.
May be called in to work when not scheduled.
This job requires some reaching, lifting, bending, and will include extended periods of sitting and standing.
Must be able to hear sufficiently, and speak clearly to communicate with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities:
Accurately enters insurance and patient information both in the outpatient lobby and emergency department setting.
Accurately codes all registrations with the correct insurance and checks eligibility as required.
Collects co-pays, coinsurance, and deductible amounts as required.
Answers and directs all calls at the switchboard in a friendly and efficient manner.
Monitors all code panels and promptly announces all codes by overhead page in a manner consistent with Registration department policies.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work with a team to accomplish departmental and organizational goals.
Must maintain patient confidentiality, be organized and accurate.

Float position. Must be able to work at least (but not limited to) the times listed below:
Day shift: 6a-5p, 7a-7:45p, 7a-2p
Evening shift: 12p-10:45p
Night shift: 10p-7:15a and 7:30p-7:15a
