About This Position

Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across all functional areas of Human Resources, with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition and recruitment operations. This role serves as the primary administrator of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and a strategic partner to leaders and associates by ensuring compliance with employment laws, supporting organizational initiatives, and driving employee engagement, talent management, and workforce effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
    • Manages full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, and offers.
    • Serves as the ATS Administrator, ensuring system functionality, data integrity, reporting, and training for hiring managers.
    • Develops recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates and ensure a positive candidate experience.
    • Coordinates new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure smooth integration into the organization.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Serves as a resource to employees and managers on HR-related inquiries, policies, and procedures.
    • Partners with managers to address employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
    • Supports employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Compliance & Policy Administration
    • Reviews and tracks compliance with required trainings, certifications, and licensure.
    • Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Assists in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
  • Performance & Talent Management
    • Supports managers in goal setting, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
    • Provides HR metrics and analytics (e.g., turnover, time-to-fill, recruitment funnel reporting, training compliance) to support decision-making.
  • Compensation, Benefits & HR Programs
    • Assists with compensation reviews, pay practices, and internal equity assessments.
    • Supports benefits administration and employee wellness initiatives.
    • Coordinates training and development programs.
  • General HR Administration
    • Maintains HRIS records and reporting.
    • Provides input into process improvements and HR project work.
    • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present HR and recruitment data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS and ATS required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent years of progressively responsible HR experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience preferred, with significant exposure to recruitment and ATS administration.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) required within 18 months of hire.
