Overview
This position will support the Bank's compliance program by carrying out various facets of the Bank's Compliance Management System (CMS). In addition to carrying out monitoring procedures for departments throughout the organization, will also serve as the primary compliance resource for the consumer loan and marketing functions. Performs any functions within the scope of authority and expertise to provide the highest level of service to customers and coworkers.
Responsibilities
Support the Bank's compliance monitoring program by completing periodic reviews and working with business partners to ensure monitoring activities are completed in an effective manner.
Oversee third-party compliance monitoring engagements from initial information gathering to the issuance of the final report and follow-up with operating managers for any issues identified.
Working closely and independently with business lines, serve as a subject matter expert providing assistance, interpretation, and guidance about the application of various regulations to products, systems, and procedures.
Provide both proactive and responsive guidance to departments in an advisory role for compliance risk related issues.
Respond to consumer compliance issues raised by the Board, Audit Committee, or Senior Management.
Prepare regulatory application filings for branch openings or closures.
Assist the Compliance Director during FDIC and state bank examinations and Compliance Audits.
Support the Bank's regulatory compliance objectives and recommend and implement changes to support prescribed requirements.
Maintain and update the Compliance Risk Assessment system as needed.
Represent the Bank through active participation in community and industry organizations and events and promote the business interests of the Bank.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree is required
Work Experience
- 5+ years regulatory compliance experience in a bank, regulator, or consultant setting is required
Additional Requirements
- Highly organized with analytical ability and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office and Banking systems
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Data analysis skills
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager required or obtained within one year of start date.
