Backend Engineer (Founding Team) at Aonic – San Francisco, California

Your Mission
As a Founding Team Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in building Aonic's AI-driven health system. You will be responsible for developing the backbone of our technology, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems that drive our mission to help people in America live healthier and happier lives.
Your Responsibilities
Lead Backend Development: Architect, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure for our AI-driven health app. Ensure the system is scalable, secure, and performs efficiently under load.
Innovate and Implement Solutions: Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient backend software solutions. Drive the development of new features and functionalities that support our health app's unique requirements.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, mobile, AI, and medical teams to build cohesive and integrated solutions. Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration between departments.
Maintain High Standards: Ensure the quality, security, and performance of our backend systems. Stay updated with the latest advancements in backend development and integrate them into our product.
Communicate Effectively: Manage key communications across and outside the company, from internal updates to customer feedback. Engage with users to understand their needs and ensure our product meets their expectations.
Your Profile
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Backend Development: Expertise in languages such as Python, Node.js, or Go. Experience with frameworks like Django, Express, or similar.• Strong Software Engineering Fundamentals: Ability to reason systematically about problems and implement effective solutions in software.• Experience with Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with database optimization and maintenance.• API Development: Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.• Cloud Services and Infrastructure: Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.• System Design: Deep understanding of system architecture and design for scalable and reliable backend systems.• Data Handling and Processing: Proficiency in data handling, ETL processes, and real-time data processing.• Knowledge of AI/ML Integration: Basic understanding of integrating AI/ML models within backend systems and how to interface with LLMs.• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
