HOSTESS - DIETARY at Conway Medical Center – Conway, South Carolina

Position Summary: The Hostess will be responsible for preparing food carts for delivery to patient rooms and retrieving patient meal trays. The Hostess will provide individualized assistance to every patient by making rounds, menu management per physician orders, consistently sets up patient snacks needed for special diets, and ensures all items are delivered to each nursing unit. The Hostess will consistently assure that floor stocks are filled, and delivered to each nursing unit as ordered. The Hostess is conscious of tray presentation, checks trays for appearance and arrangement; places food items on tray carefully and neatly, and consistently checks for missing items. The Hostess correctly identifies every patient while maintaining confidentiality. The Hostess returns unused items to refrigerators, freezers, or storerooms, properly wrapped, labeled, and put in the appropriate place. The Hostess checks all nursing units for soiled trays, and returns them to the kitchen. The Hostess must be willing to report back to work during any emergency situation, this includes if needed during inclement weather, mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. The Hostess will complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience:

• Two years’ experience in food service experience preferred.
• Prior food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Special Skills:

• Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills required.
