Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-Time

Description:Aquila's Personal Trainer assists members in safe and effective exercise and may perform a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.

Personal Trainers earn commission for all sessions taught, or an hourly rate when not conducting personal training sessions. Training commissions average between $30-$40 per hour of training. Candidates should be available to conduct personal training sessions generally between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays but can also conduct personal training sessions outside of those timeframes as well.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise exercise areas
• Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
• Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
• Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
• Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
• Explain all equipment
• Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
• Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
• Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
• Attend staff meetings
• Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
• Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field, OR active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NCCPT or NSCA)
• Active Aquila approved fitness instructor certifications
• Active CPR certification
• 1+ year experience in supervising adults during exercises
