Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides direct administrative support to the Medical Director and other physicians within Medical Administration. Monitors Detention Health Care Services (DHCS) activities to ensure compliance with Health System policies and procedures. Performs skilled secretarial, clerical and general office work essential to the operations of the department. Requires good working vocabulary of general, technical, medical and scientific terms. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Promotes positive working relationships with co-workers, other Health System employees, Bexar County Adult and Juvenile Districts Courts and the Sheriff’s Business Office to formulate solutions to identified problems and the general public, in the spirit of Guest Relations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent is required. High School secretarial courses or attendance at business school or college is preferred. Two years of office experience is required. Two years of experience within University Health System is preferred
