Job Description
Position Summary
Responsible for enhancing and maintaining the overall direction and development of the Healthcare Access Department; specifically in the Emergency, Outpatient and Inpatient registration areas, and Centralized Scheduling. Assumes responsibility for managing all initiatives which would improve processes, maximize efficiency and maintain high employee performance. Additionally, responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with facility and regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines. Support the Healthcare Access Director in all appropriate areas including, but not limited to employee performance, operational effectiveness, and creating and maintaining budgetary metrics. Maintain, monitor and assure full access to all patients wishing admission to Shore Medical Center for their healthcare needs.
Minimum Requirements
• 2 years previous scheduling experience
• 5 years insurance verification experience
• Medical office and EMR experience
• Detail Oriented
• Strong communication skills
Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree
• CHAM/CPAM
