Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician will provide support to several areas of the business by completing required documents for: confirming product meets applicable laws and standards, Material Certifications, Certificates of Conformance, and other documents as required. The Quality Control Technician is also responsible for measurement of product samples from vendor. When material is returned, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for verifying the return of material in full and determining whether the product is acceptable to return to stock or is nonconforming product. The Quality Control Technician will also conduct testing on products as required per the print or engineering requirements. Additional responsibilities could also include auditing of outbound shipments or assisting with certifying products and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
· Creates documentation for customer regarding Material Certifications, Certificates of Conformance, and other documents as required
· Works with suppliers to ensure they are current on their standard requirements, requests additional documentation as required
· Navigates customer portals to upload necessary documentation or sends direct to customer if requested
· Supports Quality Engineer with additional review of materials or sorts for Corrective Actions as required
· Verifies returned product for conformity to approve Return Material Authorization by validating correct quantity returned, condition of returned, and correct cost within RMA system
· Audits and approves finished products for onward shipment to customers
· Assists internal manufacturing in verification of first off tool, PPAP, or confirmation of product following quality issues
· Inspects products according to print requirements using gauges, coordinate measuring machine, scales, oscilloscope and vision prior to shipment
· Execute test plans based on product and engineering requirements
· Approve or reject materials with respect to quality standards
· Maintains all documentation listed above
· Supports process improvements
· Assists with other duties and challenges in the quality department as requested
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· 2-5 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment
· Experience with measuring equipment and print reading
· Has a general knowledge of legal requirements for RoHS, Prop 65, USMCA, Reach, and CMRT
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with navigating customer portals
