About This Position
Software Architect
Alianza is looking for a full-time Software Architect to work with engineering leaders and product managers to create and maintain an architectural vision and strategy that meets current and emerging business requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to Alianza’s architectural vision, strategy, policy, standards and process.
Responsibilities
- Own the architectural vision, strategy and blueprints for assigned technical domains.
- Help the business leaders understand the architectural vision and strategy for assigned technical domains.
- Create and maintain technical requirement documents for assigned technical domains.
- Identify maintenance and technical debt for assigned technical domains.
- Help define and maintain architectural policies, standards, and processes.
- Stay current on emerging designs, methodologies, practices, and technologies.
- Find creative, novel, and practical solutions to system/architectural challenges.
- Work with product managers to ensure technical feasibility in discovering product requirements.
- Help engineering teams with technical design and prototyping on an as-needed basis.
- Help engineering teams follow the architectural guiding principles of simple designs, lean and efficient code, ultra-high availability, uncompromising quality, robust security, high fidelity data and cost optimization.
Qualifications
- A technical degree from a reputable university (CS or STEM preferred).
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- 10+ years in a technical leadership role.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Experience with micro-services architectures.
- Experience with event-driven architectures.
- Experience with cellular architectures.
- Experience with cloud-first and multi-cloud design.
- Experience with docker containers and container orchestration.
- Extensive understanding of architectural patterns for high availability, scalability, maintainability, observability, extensibility, and testability.
- Expertise in Java is preferred.
- Expertise in telecommunications is preferred.
- Solid verbal communication skills that enable precise, courteous and concise conversations with engineer staff and executive leadership.
- Solid written communication skills that allow for the quick creation of technical documentation.
