Job Overview:

Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures and patient care. Conducts other related duties assigned and maintains knowledge of other areas in the department. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. The CT Technologist will train new CT Technologists, schedule daily assignments for staff and management ofthe patient flow, assist management to ensure that the CT equipment is inspected and remains compliant, assists with MRI's as needed and performs quality control.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • CT experience required

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • NJ DEP License required

Scheduling Requirements:

Essential Functions:

  • Schedule daily assignments for staff and management of the patient flow
  • Assist management to ensure that the CT equipment is inspected and remains compliant
  • Order and maintain adequate storeroom supply levels
  • Perform quality control and check on equipment daily
  • Train new CT Technologists
  • Assist in MRI as needed
  • Ensures patient comfort, physical and mental well being during the examination
  • Analyzes patient physical condition, age and suspected pathology for proper technique
  • Assists Radiologist in performing certain radiographic procedures
  • Ensures that room is properly stocked with all needed supplies prior to the beginning of the procedure
  • Explains procedures, keeps patient informed of progress and assists patients in transferring onto/off examination table for procedures
  • Observes equipment for proper functioning and reports malfunctions to supervisor
  • Properly prepares room before patient enters and cleans it after patient exits
  • Properly uses the Radiology Information System to arrive, change if necessary and complete cases
  • Utilizes equipment appropriately for each type of examination
  • Verifies physician orders, documents completion on inpatient charts

Pay Range:

$ 42.75 minimum to $ 54.85 maximum Hourly Rate
