Project Engineer at Rachel Contracting – St. Michael, Minnesota

Rachel Contracting is seeking qualified applicants for a Project Engineer to assist our Estimating/Project Management Department. Rachel Contracting is a specialty site-work contractor performing earthwork, demolition and utilities primarily in the Midwest/Central US region. Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent on various earthwork and general civil construction projects.
• Track actual production quantities and costs and report them to the Project Manager.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Manage subcontract schedules and monitor quality of work.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
• Support with several project management duties for earthwork, demolition and general civil construction projects.
• Travel will be required for this position.

Position Qualification Preferences:

• Related construction experience and currently enrolled or working towards a college degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to be a team leader under challenging conditions
• Demonstrate positive outlook
• Dependability: showing initiative and good follow through
• Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to effectively prioritize
