Student Software Developer Position
This position is an appointment under the supervision of an innovator selected by and participating in the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE). The innovator’s goal is to create a design for a software solution determined by customer discovery and market research to address the problem defined. The innovator is seeking a developer assistant to build and implement functional programs for Prototype.
This position will provide Harrisburg University students with programming experience that may enhance opportunities for graduate programs and/or employment opportunities.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Assisting the CIE Innovator with non-administrative duties.
- Participate in research initiatives to identify software solutions.
- Design algorithms and flowcharts.
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
- Integrate software components.
- Verify and formulate programs and systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and upgrade software.
- Gather, evaluate and interpret user feedback.
- Recommend and prepare solutions/improvements.
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
- Maintain regular meetings with the supervisor to relay ongoing results and procedures.
- Display positive behavior inside and outside the workplace.
Academic Qualifications & Skills:
- Current enrollment in Computer Information Science at Harrisburg University.
- Academic GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Knowledge of coding languages
- Academic experience with software design and development
- Skilled in proper oral and written communication.
- Familiar with Application Programming Interface (API)
- Experience in Python programming language, a plus
