About this Role: The Junior Engineer is responsible for electrical, and mechanical assembles and/or systems. Other responsibilities include the design of test control apparatus and equipment, evaluation of operational systems and recommendation of modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements and travels occasionally for meetings and/or conferences.
Responsibilities:
· Build and maintain a working knowledge of current product offering from our contracted suppliers, and overall market coordination
· Build and test systems and configure software for testing systems
· Analyze technical requirements and efforts associated with test systems and products
· Generate engineering documents, including schematics, diagnostics, flowcharts, and project status report
· Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results, as needed
· Thoroughly test all control cabinets prior to them being released to the warehouse for shipment
· Provide technical support to shop personnel and field personnel, as needed, including training on set-up and program changes, as well as assisting in resolving problems to avoid production delays
· Ensure accuracy of jobs through the shop by identifying and correcting errors and/or changes to prints when needed
· Possess a thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and can interpret drawings
· Provide estimated cycling times to Engineering personnel, as requested
· Work on specific engineering projects assigned by manager
· Assist in all areas of the company to build a working knowledge of all products
· Any other duties as supervisor, the President and CEO may require
Position Qualifications
Competencies & Skills:
· Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems
· Understanding of analog, digital, and micro-processor circuits
· Understanding of audio, video, and RF circuits
· Ability to troubleshoot circuits to the component level
· Ability to create/analyze detailed technical documentation and reports
· Strong organizational and follow-up skills
· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented
· Ability to multi-task with good organization, attention to details, and ability to prioritize
· Apply proven technology independently
· Self-starter capable of solving complex problems with little supervision
· Ability to build/test systems and configure software
· Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills necessary
· Ability to read, write and speak fluent English, non-negotiable
· Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions accurately and completely as needed
· Communication and teamwork skills with a positive demeanor is required
· Must be willing to learn new technologies and be self-motivated to increase knowledge
· Strong work ethics are a must
· Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work independently
· Company hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday
· Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work at a computer
Education and Experience
· Associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, required
· IMSA Certification(s), preferred
· Strong basic electrical wiring knowledge, preferred
· Knowledge of electromechanical design, required
· Working knowing of LINUX, required
· Working knowledge of, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office, required
· Mechanical, electrical, and computer aptitude and desire, required
